Veer Clip

Shave the peaks and hear the clipping, not just more volume.

A clipper for drums, 808 and the master. One Clip knob drives into Hard, Soft, Tape or Tube shapes with the level matched, so you hear the clipping, not just louder. Oversampling to 16x, a true-peak ceiling and Protect Low for a clean 808 sub.

Veer Clip on a snare with the Hard shape and 16x oversampling: the clip history shows the kept signal in gold and the shaved peaks in grey, next to the transfer curve and the IN, OUT and GR meters.

What it does

A clipper for drums, 808 and the master.

One knob, level-matched
Turn Clip and the level stays matched while the peaks get shaved, so you judge the clipping by ear, not by the extra volume. Find listens for a few seconds and sets it to take about 2.5 dB off the peaks.
Four shapes and a Knee
Hard, Soft, Tape and Tube, with a continuous Knee from razor-sharp to round: from a clean, invisible shave to an audible crunch on the snare.
Clean when you push it
Oversampling from off to 16x keeps the top end free of aliasing. The Ceiling, with optional true-peak safety, means the output never goes over it.
A clean 808 sub
Protect Low keeps the clipping out of the sub, so the 808 gets louder and harder without turning muddy.
See what gets shaved
A clip history and IN, OUT and GR meters show every peak that loses its tip, and the HEAVY warning tells you when you're overdoing it.
Check it every way
Delta plays only what's clipped; level-matched Compare, Mono and Phone checks; 14 presets for trap, drill, rap and pop, in Simple and Expert views.

A closer look

Veer Clip pushed hard with 12 dB of drive: the HEAVY warning lights up above a clip history full of shaved peaks.
